Do I need to already be fluent in the other language to use this?
No. Live translation is built for exactly the opposite situation — following a conversation in a language you’re not yet fully comfortable in, by seeing or hearing it in your own language instead.
Can I choose to read instead of listening to the translation?
Yes. Voice → Text shows translated captions on screen only, for when reading works better than listening in the moment. Voice → Voice does that and also speaks the translation aloud.
Can I go back and check exactly what was said afterward?
Yes — live translation sessions can be saved and reviewed or searched afterward, not just experienced once in the moment. If you have a separate recording you want reviewed instead, you can also upload it for transcription.
